MasterChef's sultry Nigella Lawson unleashes feminine charms on flustered contestant Matt saying his carrot cake 'was everything' before evicting Con Vailas

Her flirtatious manner, culinary innuendos and tendency to indulge have made Nigella Lawson as much a sex symbol as a cook.

And true to form, the domestic goddess did not hold back while tasting cakes during the elimination round on Thursday's episode of MasterChef Australia.

She unleashed her feminine charms on Matt Sinclair while trying his carrot cake with candied walnuts, even saying it makes you want to 'feed someone and make them happy'.

Wearing a form-fitting black dress, Nigella told him: 'It is everything a home-baked cake should be.

'A little bit messy, things are spilling out around the middle where the top is squished onto the bottom, that pile-up of golden crumb and nuts.

'It looks generous and it makes you want to feed someone and make them happy. I love that.'

Matt went head-to-head with Con Vailas and Charlie Sartori in the elimination round after all three failed Nigella's 'name that cake' challenge.

The world-famous saved Matt and sent home Con after his Thyme pound cake failed to meet the mark.

When delivering the results, Nigella said: 'I really have to say that one of you really did exceptionally well. Matt, I'm going to come straight out. Your cake had everything.

'It just was so welcoming to look at, so welcoming to eat. And that's why you are safe, Matt.'

Earlier in the episode she had shared a giggle with Matt while doing a tour of the kitchen.

When noticing a corner was missing, she asked: 'Did you taste that bit? It looks like there's a bit missing. I wondered if you tasted it.'

A laughing Matt then replied: 'No. No, I didn't touch it.'

But it wasn't all sweetness and light from Nigella, as she chided Con for choosing to make a pound cake.

When she realised Con was cooking the cake at 200C, she said: 'No, a pound cake you have to cook really low.

'You need to be getting a cake that will cook fast. You know, a pound cake is a low, even temperature. So what's your plan? What are you making instead?'

Con said: 'I've got a wet cake in the oven and I've got no plan B.'

Charlie was first to be named in the bottom three after he mistook a Simnel cake for a fruit cake in the 'name the cake' challenge.

When choosing in from the bench full of cakes, he said: 'I've narrowed it down to two cakes and I think it's a fruit cake.

'I slice into the cake and straightaway I notice that it's a layered cake. You know, there's a little bit of mixture in the middle, so I'm starting to think now that this might not be a fruit cake.

'I could be in a lot of trouble. I taste the cake.'

Nigella chimed in, saying: 'I happen to make it, so I know it.'

But when he suggested it might be a fruit cake to the judges, Nigella responded saying: 'It is, kind of.

'But that's not what it is. It's a simnel cake. It's cooked at Easter time and the marzipan balls are to represent the apostles.

'Out of a sense of tact, there are only 11, because they left out Judas. So, I'm afraid you got it wrong.'

Con was also put through to the final elimination round after he thought an Icelandic Vínarterta cake was a Continental Cake.

Nigella told him: Unfortunately, Con. Now, my Icelandic is not brilliant, so I would call it a Vínarterta. It's traditional Icelandic and I think they do it at Christmas time.

'That icing on top is meant to look like the snow that's fallen. But I'm sorry, you're wrong.

'It means that you'll be joining Matt and Charlie and be cooking in round two.'
