A Marcellus woman faces charges after crashing her vehicle into the back of a crime scene van on Tuesday, according to the Onondaga County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies say 42-year-old Holly Laprade was under the influence of alcohol and texting when the 2016 Chevrolet Equinox she was driving crashed into the back of a sheriff's office crime scene van on South Street.

Laprade was not injured in the crash, according to the sheriff's office. Nobody was inside the crime scene van at the time of the crash.

Laprade now faces charges of driving while intoxicated, aggravated DWI and operating a motor vehicle with a BAC of .08% or higher, according to the sheriff's office. She's due to appear in the Town of Marcellus Court on July 10.

At the time of the crash deputies were investigating one of two home burglaries in Marcellus that evening; a Syracuse man, who deputies said was found hiding in a closet in one of the homes, faces charges in connection to the burglaries.
