Robbery nabs over $100K in stolen jewelry

Thousands of dollars in inventory was stolen from a Lawrenceville jewelry store in a matter of seconds.

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. — A brazen, mid-day robbery at a jewelry store resulted in the theft of $100,000 in merchandise, and Gwinnett police are still looking for the suspects.

On Monday, April 15, around 11:50 a.m., a pair of unidentified suspects entered the Crescent Jewelers at 5900 Sugarloaf Parkway in unincorporated Lawrenceville. The suspects pretended to be customers inquiring about jewelry. 

After briefly speaking with a member of the staff, one of the suspects pulled a hammer from his waistband and proceeded to smash several display cases. In less than thirty seconds, the pair grabbed multiple trays of jewelry and emptied them into bags they had hidden beneath their jackets.  

The suspects then fled the store and were seen leaving the parking lot in a black Mitsubishi SUV. The pair were described as two black males between 25 to 30 years of age. A witness stated that both men had tattoos on their faces.

Suspect #1: Black male wearing a red Members Only jacket with a white t-shirt underneath, blue jeans, and white sneakers, and a black ski hat

Suspect #2: Black male wearing a blue jacket, blue jeans, white t-shirt and black boots and black ski hat
