Texas High School Football: The Bi-District Playoff Results

The playoff season is here and some teams made an early exit while others won big.

It's high school football playoff season in Texas and there are a number of Houston area high schools who have their eye on the state title game. The bi-district playoff action began on Thursday night with Fort Bend Marshall defeating Santa Fe 53-15 in a big win, and Summer Creek defeating CE King 29-28 in a close game.

The action continued on Friday with both Tomball schools falling from the playoff race early. The Tomball Cougars lost their bi-district bid to John Tyler 43-17, and Tomball Memorial fell to Vandegrift 35-14. Meanwhile, the Pearland Oilers undefeated season came to a surprising end with the Oilers losing to the Dickinson Gators 49-21.

In other bi-district action, Willowridge fell to Nederland 22-16, Sherman defeated Magnolia West 44-31, Port Neches-Groves downed the Northside Panthers 48-7, Atascocita stayed unbeaten defeating Channelview 71-55, and Clear Lake defeating Pearland Dawson 28-14.

The playoff action continues Saturday with Spring and Klein Oak kicking off in a 2 p.m. match up, and Cypress Wood taking on Round Rock at 3 p.m.
