Undercover agents raided an Atlanta-area mechanics shop Friday and found drugs worth millions of dollars.
Sources say the investigation started last October. But on Thursday, agents allegedly saw a semi-truck pull into the shop and watched Roquilio Garcia offload drugs.
24 hours later, deputies arrested the 45-year-old father on trafficking charges.
High ranking law enforcement sources said the drugs were smuggled from Mexico and Garcia may have had plans to build a meth lab in the business.
Sources said it’s not 100 percent definitive that Garcia has ties to the cartel, but did say there is evidence he is part of a large-scale criminal organization from Mexico.
Garcia’s son, Cristian Garcia says his father is no drug trafficker — just a small business owner.
“He’s a good man. Hard working man,” he said.
Christian Garcia said the family has a lawyer for his father’s case.
Investigators say the 150 pounds of liquid meth produces about 600 pounds of crystal meth. Officials said the drugs would have a street value of $10 million.
