Authorities have charged a Palmdale woman with felony hit-and-run in a June 30 incident that left a 32-year-old Lancaster man dead, authorities said.
Antonio Ellis died from blunt head trauma and “his death was certified as an accident,” Los Angeles County Medical Examiner and Coroner’s Department spokeswoman Sarah Ardalani said. Ellis would have turned 33 on July 5.
Denisse Aguilar of Palmdale turned herself in to the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department’s Palmdale Station the following day, California Highway Patrol Sgt. Charles Murray said.
The vehicle involved, a 2014 Kia Soul, was recovered.
The accident occurred early in the morning on June 30, and a sheriff’s patrol unit spent about an hour at the scene before it was determined that CHP had jurisdiction, Murray said.
Aguilar is facing a felony hit-and-run charge because investigators determined Ellis “was standing or crossing in the roadway” when he was hit, Murray said.
The Antelope Valley Press was unable to locate Aguilar’s booking information in the LASD online inmate search.
