After outgrowing its office on Liberty Road, the South Salem DMV will be closed from Jan. 24 to Jan. 26 as it moves to a larger and renovated location.

Oregon Department of Transportation officials said the new office on 4825 Commercial St. SE, Suite 120 will offer more lobby space, additional parking and easier access.

Office hours at the new location near Physiq Fitness and the Bottle Drop Redemption Center will remain set 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday except for Wednesdays when the office opens at 9 a.m.

For years, the South Salem office was located in the Sunnyslope Shopping Center on Liberty Road South. Officials said the daily volume of customers had outgrown the location's lobby space and parking capacity.

The Sunnyslope office will close at 5 p.m. Jan. 23 and the Commercial Street location will open at 8 a.m. Jan. 29.

The North Salem DMV office will remain open.
