Dumpling Haus receives Small Business Boost from Texans & Amegy Bank

Houston Texans Staff

The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic has been tough on small businesses across the world.

The Texans have three main goals as an organization: win championships, create memorable experiences and do great things for our community. With that third goal in mind, the Texans and Amegy Bank are promoting and assisting the small businesses that make the Houston community so great.

The Texans took nominations from fans, and awarded a Small Business Boost. Each winner gets $2,500 to support their immediate business needs, some free promotional assets from the Texans, an inclusion in the Texans 'Local Business Playbook', and an invitation to exclusive Amegy Bank Business Webinars and Events.

The women of Dumpling Haus love sharing. Sharing their delicious dumplings with the City of Houston, sharing meals for essential healthcare workers during the COVID-19 Pandemic, and sharing their storefront to house a mural bringing awareness to a worthy cause.

The Houston Texans and Amegy Bank are happy to share with the Dumpling Haus. The former gave the latter a 'Small Business Boost' recently, and it's a small token of appreciation for a unique enterprise.

Founded in 2016, the Dumpling Haus dumplings are made from scratch and hand-wrapped on a daily basis. Elaine Won is the owner, and she's tailored the menu to highlight traditional Cantonese and Taiwanese flavors.

"Opening a business right before a global pandemic hit was a challenge but it's through the support of our community that we will be able to continue selling our handmade and homestyle cooking," Won said. "Sharing food is a big part of our culture and we are happy to be able to bring people into our community with our food."

Further, the Dumpling Haus supports local farmers through the Urban Harvest Farmers Market, and also worked with Community First over the last two years to provide meals for essential healthcare workers during the Pandemic. Dumpling Haus also wanted to bring awareness and stand against Asian hate crime, so it worked with local Asian-American artists on a storefront mural.

The Texans and Amegy Bank are proud to support the Dumpling Haus, and if you'd like to learn more about the delicious Sawyer Yards eatery, please click HERE.
