Individually, Kevin Harvick and Kurt Busch have been no strangers to controversy during their careers, and they came together to produce another fiery moment Sunday.

Harvick advanced to the Round of 8 following seventh-place finish in the Hellman’s 500 at Talladega Superspeedway, but he wasn’t filled with joy when he pulled onto pit road. Instead, he was looking for Busch.

The Stewart-Haas Racing teammates got together on the cool-down lap, and it’s pretty clear Harvick was anything but cool afterward. Harvick appeared to throw a haymaker at Busch, who was still in the car.

For a guy nicknamed “Happy,” Harvick has earned a fighting reputation. In 2013, he lashed out at his team at the time, Richard Childress Racing, for its driver choice, tussling with teammate Ty Dillon during a Camping World Truck Series race at Martinsville Speedway.

Then, he essentially sparked a fight in 2014 between Jeff Gordon and Brad Keselowski at Texas Motor Speedway, by pushing Gordon into the driver of the No. 2 as they were yelling at each other.

We learned earlier this year he can get pretty mad at his own team, but when he gets physical, that’s when it’s taken to a completely different level. Harvick did allude to there being a team meeting at SHR about the incident.
