Fire Destroys Bethel Island Home

BREAKING: East Contra Costa County firefighters responded to the blaze Monday night.

CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA — A fire burned a home Monday night in the unincorporated Contra Costa County community of Bethel Island, East Contra Costa Fire Protection District officials said. Firefighters were sent at 10:16 p.m. to the 2500 block of Taylor Road after someone called to say a structure was on fire.

Firefighters were still on the scene in a defensive mode at 10:48 p.m. working to protect two more structures.

Tuesday at 9:20 a.m,. firefighters were back at the home where a flame had popped up and they were working to be sure the fire was out.
