John Thomas Tomberlin, 83, of Nauvoo, Ala., formerly of Chattanooga, died Sunday, Nov. 23, 2003, in a hospital there.
He was a native of Montgomery, Ala. but had lived in the Chattanooga area for many years prior to relocating to Nauvoo, Ala. He was a longtime member of Highland Park Baptist Church and the V.F.W. on Riverside Drive in Chattanooga. He was a World War II veteran serving in the Army and was retired from Chattanooga Glass Company.
His wife, Hannah Edwards Tomberlin, preceded him in death.
He is survived by his son John C. Tomerlin, Chattanooga; grandsons, John Michael Tomberlin, Chattanooga; Gregory Scott Tomerlin, Nauvoo, Ala.; great-grandson, Brandon Scott Tomberlin, Nauvoo, Ala.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. in the East Chapel with Rev. Bob Circeo officiating.
Entombment will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Arrangements are by the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, 404 South Moore Road, Chattanooga, Tennessee.
