Wichita Falls churches announce upcoming events

Covenant Faith Center, 2904 Borton St.:  Public invited to our annual sunrise service at 6:30 a.m. Easter Sunday. Start with praying for the loss, praise and worship as we watch the sunrise come up, burning of prayer request. Coffee in light breakfast will be served right after service

Members of Faith Baptist Church presented the story of the life, death and resurrection of Jesus to the community. This year, a bigger cast and grander set will combine to help “Victorious” transport audience members to Biblical times. The production will be at 7 p.m. Friday, April 19, 7 p.m. Saturday, April 20, or 10:30 a.m. Easter Sunday, April 21.

Faith Baptist Church, 3001 Southwest Parkway: Come celebrate Easter with Wichita Falls and the surrounding area at Faith Baptist Church at the annual “Victorious!” presentation!   Each year Faith Baptist Church has over 150 people volunteer to present “Victorious: Experience the Struggle … Celebrate the Victory!” It is the story of Christ’s life, death and resurrection. Thousands have attended the past few years to experience this Biblical representation of Jesus Christ as we step back in time two thousand years  through dramatic reenactment and music. The story reveals how Jesus Christ impacts our lives today. This is an excellent Christian tradition and opportunity for your family, friends and churches to celebrate together. Due to the presentations popularity, for 2019 the church has added to the number of presentations. There is no admission charge for this presentation. We welcome you to join us at 7 p.m. Friday, April 19, 7 p.m. Saturday, April 20, or 10:30 a.m. Easter Sunday, April 21. 

First Presbyterian Church, 3601 Taft Blvd.:  Holy Week at the Church begins on April 14, Palm Sunday, with a performance by children during worship and a remembrance of Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem.  On April 17, at 6 p.m., in Fellowship Hall, the Congregational Life Ministry Team will present Family Night Supper.  The cost is $6 per person or $20 for families of four or more.  On April 18, at 7 p.m., the Church will worship together, commemorating Maundy Thursday and remembering the night before Jesus died.  On April 19, at 7 p.m., evening worship will observe Good Friday, the day Jesus was crucified.  On April 21, at 10:50 a.m., the Church will celebrate Easter, when Jesus rose from the tomb.  On Easter Sunday, a wooden cross will be set in front of the Church facing Taft Boulevard and covered in fresh flowers brought by the Church and worshipers. Many families take photographs in front of the cross.  The Flowering of the Cross is an annual event at First Presbyterian Church.

New Hope Presbyterian Church, 2201 Speedway: We would like to invite you to worship and say that all are welcome.Sunday school is at 9:00 AM and worship is at 10:30 a.m. At 6 p.m., April 17,  we will have an Easter Egg Hunt at the church. April 18, we will have a Maundy Thursday Service at 7 p.m. Also on Friday, April 19, there will be a Good Friday Service 7 p.m.

Overcoming Word Praise Center, 1801 Airport Dr.: Strategic Prayer Conference, continues, April 13, 10 a.m. Guest speakers, including  Pastor Rick McGee of Macedonia Baptist Church, Quanah, Texas, will be teaching on "The Model Prayer: God's Purpose for Praying God's Word; Why Pray?" -- Matthew 6:1-13. Free and open to the public. Free meal will be served.
