It just doesn’t make any sense that so many people are more concerned about getting a vaccine than they are of dying from a horrible disease. Trust the science and the statistics. Do yourself, your family and community a huge favor, get the free vaccine. Your stupidity concerning this global pandemic is so alarming, please do the right thing.

There is one sure fire way to reinvigorate people to get vaccinated. The Former President Guy needs to do a public service TV commercial promoting the vaccine to his loyal followers. Then they will follow just like lemmings. But this will never happen since it will only help the country and not personally enrich the Former Guy.

What a shameful decision by the Supreme Court. The archdiocese of Philadelphia will now be able to discriminate against gay foster parents. The Catholic Church would deny foster children quality care. Nothing else needs to be said about the right wing Supreme Court or the hypocrite church. Go in peace.

The Supreme Court has upheld another challenge to Obamacare by a 7-2 vote. Democracy is still alive! Healthcare is still alive. Obama’s legacy is still alive! May I share one of my faith-based beliefs? I believe that there is a Higher Power that is alive. We know that in spite of mankind’s best efforts to sometimes harm himself, a Higher Power will intervene. Why would anyone want to put a popular and much-needed healthcare program in jeopardy? Kudos to a SCOTUS that in spite of their conservative leanings said this not a conservative vote or a liberal vote. This is an American vote!

Trump says the Biden/Putin meeting in Geneva was a failure because “we didn’t get anything.” That’s correct. And what Americans didn’t get was embarrassed by the absolutely humiliating performance of its president the way we did when Trump kowtowed to Putin in the joint press conference at Helsinki.

President Biden has a year and a half to convince Senator Joe Manchin to get on board so the Democrats can fix some of America’s problems. If the Republicans get power back in 2022 in Congress, all talk of bipartisanship will disappear. That’s the major difference between the parties. Democrats try to be nice and involve everyone and Republicans just do whatever they want and run roughshod over everyone, including voters. It’s past time for the Democrats to start playing to win.

Republicans now know that the insurrection that was inspired by their Big Lie has given Putin an excuse to continue the abuse against his rivals. Republicans heard Putin say look at what your folks did on January 6. You have no right to criticize me! Many continue to ask, including a good number of Republicans, what has happened to the Republican party of the past? They know the answer, but they are refusing to separate themselves from the cause. It’s Trumpism! Here is how you can regain respect within the party. You don’t have to abandon the party and vote for Democrats. Encourage, support and run candidates who have strong moral values and believe in a strong democracy! If you are not comfortable with that approach, just press the button or fill out the ballot for a Democrat!

Aw, poor old creepy, sleepy Joe, the Puppet in Chief. He gets honked off at his PR department, a.k.a. the lame stream media, because they actually asked him a question that wasn’t “what flavor ice cream are you eating” or “what color socks are you wearing?” After all, you Trump-hating media clowns helped elect this moron.

Talking to Sean Hannity, Donald Trump finally admitted that he lost. Took him a long time to realize that. I wonder if he will will issue refunds to the people that bought tickets to his August inauguration?

There is now a clear indication that the Gary Hard Rock Casino will be a huge success. This should also mean that there will be an increase in the amount of funds that the city will be receiving through taxes and other negotiated contracts. Has the community been made aware of any agreements? Also, what will the city be doing to ensure that the entire area surrounding the Hard Rock will be developed in such a way that traffic off 80/94 would want to stop not only for the casino but also for shopping, food, entertainment for children, and other popular amenities. I have two suggestions that I think could be winners. First, why not consider constructing several large charging stations for electric cars. Advertise them along 80/94. The future is now. Second, why not think about a number of hourly childcare type services. Children would be cared for and entertained while parents are spending time in the casino. Gary has a chance to make 80/94 and Burr Street a destination. Nothing wrong with dreaming a little bit, especially when the dream makes sense!

As Ford and General Motors compete with each other to introduce electric vehicles, I wish to thank Tesla and Elon Musk. Without his efforts there would still be no interest in providing electric vehicles in the United States.

Every day when you read the morning newspaper, the first few pages are stories of people getting killed or wounded over really petty things. How much of this would be avoided if these weapons were not available to these people who don’t value life?

A Valparaiso man posted a video on YouTube giving his name and threatening to kill as many people as he can before he kills himself. Mental instability or availability of weapons?

Carrying flags, wearing flags, or having flags on your trucks does not make you a patriot. Especially if while doing so, you are trying to destroy our democracy, our government, and our country because your cult leader didn’t win re-election, despite massive attempts at cheating to overturn the election.
