Dan McGeorge who has taken over as head chef at the Rothay Manor in Ambleside.
In his role Dan, 26, will be responsible for developing and maintaining the two AA rosette restaurant and help owners Jamie and Jenna Shail in their ambition to develop the best experience for guests at the hotel which will undergo a month-long refurbishment next month.
Jenna said: “He’s very unassuming. He’s the antithesis of the chefs that we see on our TV screens. A humble man with exacting standards, which we are delighted about.”
Dan previously worked at three AA rosette restaurant at The Bath Priory in Bath and before that Lawn’s Restaurant in the four-star Thornton Hall Hotel on The Wirrall.
Having originally studied law he changed course to become a chef developing a great passion for food.
He said: “I just want to cook great food and make people happy.”
