California's Top Dog Names Of 2017: LIST
Find out the most popular male and female names for dogs in California. Did your pup's name make the list?
CALIFORNIA — Californians consider their four-legged companions family, so it's not much of a surprise that many of the top dog names of 2017 are human-inspired. It's a trend across the country, according to data from Rover.com.
With nearly half of U.S. households owning a dog and more than 94 percent of Americans considering their dogs members of the family, Rover dug into its database of hundreds of thousands of pet parents to uncover which names led the pack this year in major cities and across the country.
The online network of pet sitters and dog walkers discovered that human-inspired names made up 44 percent of all dog names in 2017 – up 57 percent from 2016. And for the third year in a row, the top baby names of the year are among the most popular dog names.
