1-Tank Adventure: 'See For Miles' At This Hudson Valley Overlook

This is so scenic it's worth a trip a couple of times a year.

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — The Kaaterskill Falls Viewing Platform is one of the most accessible ways to enjoy this extraordinary park in the Hudson Valley. OnlyInYourState.com wrote about it Aug. 8, and the title of the article says it all: "The Breathtaking Overlook In New York That Lets You See For Miles And Miles."

The 7,620-acre Kaaterskill Wild Forest, located in the Catskill Forest Preserve, is a popular destination for outdoor recreation due to the abundance of hiking and other recreational trails available, as well as the iconic Falls, according to the state Department of Environmental Conservation.

The overlook, built a couple of years ago, is easy to get to, via a new, wide, smooth path through the woods. And it's not strenuous or difficult or dangerous, which makes it different from some other trails there. You might enjoy this mom's take on how great it was to take young kids to the overlook from Brooklyn.
