Things to do in West Palm Beach: Floating photography and Fiesta on Flagler

Last chance to see "Foreverglades," a remarkable photography exhibit on life in The Glades, housed in a replica of a 1920s steamboat docked in the Stub Canal Turning Basin in Howard Park.

Family Promise North/Central Palm Beach County and the South End Neighborhood Association will host Fiesta on Flagler March 13, with festive food, cocktails and entertainment. Latin-inspired cuisine and cocktails will be provided by local restaurant favorites including:

Table 26 Palm Beach, Tapeo Spanish Tapas Bar, Aioli, Los Altos Jalisco, Don Ramon Restaurant Cubano and Social Club, Dr. Limon Ceviche Bar, Banko Cantina, Field of Greens, Steel Tie Spirits, Salento, Steamhorse Brewing, OWL Tequila, Herradura Tequila, and Habaneros Cigars.

The proceeds will help provide service, meals and shelter for children and their parents who are served by Family Promise of North/Central Palm Beach County. Fiesta on Flagler tickets are $75 and include festive food and drink tastings. Guests will enjoy live dance performances, dancing, authentic Cuban cigar rolling, and complimentary valet.

In celebration of the 125th Anniversary of the City of West Palm Beach, honor outstanding pioneers and history makers March 21 at Coleman Park. The vision, determination and service of the honorees contributed to the progressive development of the African and African American community and the continued upward mobility of its citizens. The Pioneer Recognition Program and reception will be held 10 AM at Coleman Park, 1116 – 21st St.

A unique public art installation from award-winning artist Sofia Valiente is approaching its final weekend and will host a special closing party on Feb. 29. Foreverglades is a remarkable photography exhibit focused on life in The Glades, housed in a replica of a 1920s steamboat docked in the Stub Canal Turning Basin in Howard Park, immersing visitors in the history of long-ago Florida. Experience Impulse, a one-of-a-kind interactive sound and light show at 512 Clematis St. This temporary art installation includes 12 large, illuminated seesaws that respond with light and music when in motion.
