A manatee in Blue Spring State Park is in need of help as a bicycle tire remains stuck along its body.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and SeaWorld’s animal care team will be attempting to remove the tire Tuesday morning, according to a report by Fox 35.

FWC experts believe the manatee, nicknamed “Wheelie” most likely found the tire at a younger age and swam through it – the tire has been part of the animal ever since.

FWC attempted one rescue Monday by laying a trap so immobilize the animal temporarily while experts removed the tire, but “Wheelie” was able to escape into the St. John’s River, where FWC lost track of it.
