You’re walking out of your gym’s bathroom, minding your own business, when someone decides to take your cell phone and smash it into pieces. Hopefully this scenario has never happened to you, but it did happen to Mario Lopez recently.

According to TMZ, Lopez accidentally bumped into someone at the Planet Hollywood Spa by Mandara in Las Vegas on September 15, and things got ugly.

Sources say Lopez said, "Excuse me" to the man, who replied "You got a problem?"

The guy was about to make physical contact with Lopez but an employee quickly got between them.

Lopez, who had left his phone on one of the locker room benches before this went down, said he just wanted to grab his cell and leave, but before he could get to it, the guy grabbed the phone, threw it against a wall, and broke it.

The cops were called, but no arrests were made as Lopez didn’t press any charges, law enforcement sources told TMZ.

The good news is that the hotel replaced Lopez’s phone for free.

The dude that had beef with Lopez is apparently a known troublemaker, and is now banned from the facility. (If you'd rather avoid people like this and work out at home, the Metashred Extreme workouts from Men's Health will help you burn fat and pack on some serious muscle.)

The banning is a good decision -- there’s a thing called locker room etiquette, after all -- but it’s important not to be a jerk in the gym (or anywhere, really). It doesn’t do anyone any good, and it’s actually bad for your health, too. According to the European Heart Journal, people are almost five times as likely to have a heart attack in the two hours after a heated exchange since all that stress increases your heart rate and blood pressure.

In 2015, Deborah Rozman, Ph.D., author of Transforming Anger, told Men’s Health that it’s important for people who have a tendency to blow up quickly to just breathe, and focus on a replacement attitude, like compassion or appreciation.

“Venting your anger feels satisfying, but it doesn't find a way around the problem,” she said.

After about 10 breaths, your heart rate will shift and signal your brain to express your more rational side. (Looking for more ways to control your anger? Start with this guide.)

So if the Planet Hollywood cell phone-smasher is reading this, maybe just take a few deep breaths next time so you don’t get banned from anymore gyms (or die of a heart attack.)
