A truck crashed into sign trailer at scene on Route 30 in Hempfield on Thursday, March 23, 2017. Two road crew workers were injured.

A two-vehicle crash Thursday along Route 30 in Hempfield injured two utility workers and temporarily shut down the roadway, authorities said.

Workers from Stewart's Fiber and Cable were setting up signs and road cones along eastbound Route 30 in the area of Ferrante's Lakeview when a pickup truck rear-ended their work trailer shortly after 7:45 a.m., according to state police.

The workers — Jordan Blose and Connor Gossett — were taken by helicopter to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh; police and company representatives said the workers' injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.

Eastbound Route 30 was shut down for about two hours between Toll Route 66 and Greengate Road while police investigated the crash. Trooper Steve Limani said it was too soon to tell whether the driver — Justin Moore, 44, of McKeesport — would face charges.
