The artists for the 2018 SummerStage season have been unveiled. From May 17 to October 7, the season will showcase over 200 artists across a plethora of genres, with all events free to attend. Artists taking the stage in parks around New York’s five boroughs include Talib Kweli, Dej Loaf, Rhiannon Giddens, Mac Demarco, Gregory Porter, Trombone Shorty, San Fermin, Angelique Kidjo, Tokimonsta, Big Daddy Kane and Young M.A.
The five-month long SummerStage festival will also feature a number of benefit shows in Central Park, which support City Parks Foundation’s free programs for all New Yorkers. Acts confirmed for various benefit shows include former Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher and fellow Brit rocker Richard Ashcroft, jam band Dispatch, indie R&B singer Blood Orange, California natives Jason Mraz and Brett Dennen, YouTube star Jake Paul, and rock group O.A.R., with more to be announced.

SummerStage will also offer pre-show workshops at various shows, expanding this year for two new season-long collaborations with Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater and social justice non-profit organization VOICES, to offer free dance workshops and humanitarian events. The 2018 season kicks off on June 2 in Central Park with jazz legend Gregory Porter and rising folk singer Victory Boyd.
