Relocating to the land Down Under! RHONY star Alex McCord and husband Simon van Kempen move family from bustling New York to rural Australia
She's used to living large- but now Alex McCord has moved her family thousands of miles from Brooklyn, New York to Queensland, Australia.
The former Real Housewife Of New York, who was fired after the controversial fourth season of the show, has now set up home in Newrybar, a coastal village 200km from Brisbane.
Alex, her eccentric husband Simon van Kempen who originally hails from Australia, and their two sons Francois and Johan, have moved to a blue and white two-storey home, complete with pool and stunning views.

Taking to her Instagram to keep her 17,700 fans in the loop about her new digs, Alex showed off the rural surroundings that couldn't be any more different from her former home in bustling NYC.
'Presenting....our new home! She's a beautiful old Queenslander and ours for the next year,' Alex revealed last month, hinting that the move wouldn't be a permanent one.
Last Saturday, she had the whole family around for dinner as they got used to their new surroundings.

'Saturday dinner for the family at our place,' she captioned a snap of a set table on a wrap around deck.
'This is why we moved here! 18 (or was it 20, can't remember) family members eating, swimming and enjoying.'
While their two boys, who now attend the local school in the area, have been doing what boys do best exploring the digs and their kidney shaped pool in the back garden.

'First order of business in the new house? Testing out the pool. Of course! Last day of summer; school starts tomorrow!' she wrote alongside a snap of them paddling in the water.
The family put their six-bedroom, five bathroom townhouse in Brooklyn’s Cobble Hill on the market for approximately $2.6 million. The listing has since closed.
Alex revealed to The Dish in September that she decided to relocate the family Down Under because it's her husband's home.

'After 18 years in New York for Alex, and 28 years outside Australia for Simon, we've made the decision to move to Australia to be with family,' she explained.
'Over the last few years, all of Simon's family have reconvened from as far as Europe to all live within 20 minutes of each other on a collection of beautiful beaches on the north coast of New South Wales.
'We are the last of the family to move back, and it's time,' she added.
