Water Main Breaks, Expect Icy Conditions Near Sheridan Street

The extremely cold temperatures will complicate fixing the break, city officials report.

PLYMOUTH, MI – City services crews are responding to a water main break along Sheridan Street between Evergreen and McKinley streets, city officials reported Friday morning.

The extreme cold temperatures will slow the efforts of the crew and equipment to make repairs. The city expects crew will blocking the street for several hours on Friday to make repairs. Severe ice conditions will occur near the main break, and ice may form in the streets, the city said. Drivers are cautioned that the intersection of Evergreen and Sheridan streets may be particularly bad.

The water system remains safe and secure, the city said. However, residents in the immediate area of the water main break may experience decreased water pressure as the crew makes repairs.
