Women’s MMA veteran Colleen Schneider signs with Bellator

Bellator continues to add to its 125-pound women's division.

The MMA promotion signed women's MMA veteran Colleen Schneider to a contract this week, officials confirmed with MMA Fighting. MMAjunkie was the first to report the news. Schneider is expected to make her Bellator debut at Bellator 170 on Jan. 21 in Los Angeles.

Schneider (10-7) won four straight fights before falling to Tonya Evinger by unanimous decision in an Invicta bantamweight title fight back in May. The Los Angeles resident and girlfriend of MMA heavyweight stalwart Josh Barnett competed successfully at 125 prior to moving to 135 in 2013. Schneider, 34, is an Ultimate Fighter alum and former Super Fight League champion.

No opponent has been named yet for "The Thoroughbred."

Bellator 170 is headlined by a bout between MMA legends Tito Ortiz and Chael Sonnen. Also on the bill, Ralek Gracie will make his return to the sport. The card takes place at The Forum in Inglewood, Calif.
