Celtics guard Ray Allen could see some playing time in Game 3 against the Atlanta Hawks on Friday in Boston.
Allen will be a game time decision as he was in the first two games of the series. For Game 3, though, Allen is a little more optimistic. ESPN Boston reported that Allen practiced with the team on Thursday.
Allen missed the last nine games of the season and was forced to watch as his teammates evened the series at 1-1 on Tuesday. He will need surgery on his injured ankle after the season. But until then, he's determined to get back on the court in what could be his last chance at an NBA title with the Boston Celtics. Doc Rivers said that Allen is a tough one, because he's such a creature of habit.
Even a little playing time from Allen could be a difference maker, as the Celtics have shot just 3-for-25 on 3-point field goals as a team without him.
It all comes down to how Allen's ankle feels on Friday.
