Guntersville Lake Hydrofest ticket launch is March 1

Guntersville Lake Hydrofest will be this summer's biggest event at the lake, with two classes of hydroplanes, racing at speeds of 200 mph, as they compete in the first points race to be held in Alabama since 1969.

These three days of fun on the South's fastest water will open Friday, June 22 with testing and qualifying. Competitive racing will take place on Saturday and Sunday, June 23-24, along with wakeboard exhibitions and a special appearance by Miss Budweiser, one of the most iconic of all Unlimited hydroplanes.

Tickets for Guntersville Lake Hydrofest will go on sale Thursday, March 1 at 9 a.m. All tickets can be purchased online at www.guntersvillelakehydrofest.com or on Facebook at www.facebook.com/guntersvillelakehydrofest.

Ticket prices for the Guntersville Lake Hydrofest are as follows:

  • Adult general admission: $20 per weekend pass
  • Children, ages 6-12 general admission: $10 per weekend pass (children age 5 and under will be free)

A concert featuring Suzie Oravec and A Thousand Horses will be held at the Lurleen B. Wallace pavilion on Saturday evening as part of the weekend festivities. Tickets for the concert can be purchased either separately or as an addition to the weekend pass for $5.

To keep cool during the June heat and to have a designated space for family and friends to gather, personal tent spaces will be available for $50. This includes a 15' X 15' area inside the event venue where guests can set up their tents/chairs and leave them through the weekend.

For those who want to get up close and personal to these racing boats and drivers, pit passes will be available for $20 per pass and include transportation to and from the pit area and a guided tour with history of Guntersville boat racing.

Personal tent space and pit passes, as well as concert tickets, will all be available through the Hydrofest website.
