Portland metro Tuesday traffic: Utility work causes lane closures on OR 212

Road construction ahead

A major road project begins in December along OR 212 from I-205 to Boring.

Road crews will close lanes on OR 212 for utility relocation work coming ahead of a major road improvement project from Interstate 205 to Boring.

Travelers on OR 212 will see day and nighttime lane closures for the next three months. The work zone is 12 miles long and continues into much of 2020. Other disruptions include sidewalk closures, flaggers directing traffic intermittently through one travel lane, and a full 12-day closure near Boring for the summer of 2020.

The project includes:

  • ADA compliant sidewalk curb ramps and pedestrians’ facilities at 26 intersections along OR 212.
  • A new fish-friendly bridge at North Fork Deep Creek, which is now carried under OR 212 by corrugated pipe.

In Vancouver, the on-ramp from Main Street to southbound Interstate 5 will close 7 a.m.-4 p.m. daily through Thursday, Dec. 12. Crews will be performing electrical work along the ramp. Use caution in the area and choose an alternate route.
