Man Shot To Death In San Jose Sunday

Police are still investigating the circumstances leading up to the shooting.

SAN JOSE, CA —A man who was killed in a shooting in San Jose early Sunday morning has been identified today by the Santa Clara County medical examiner's office.

Jose Munoz Ruiz, 24, of San Jose, was found by San Jose police who responded to a report of a person shot behind a building in the 2100 block of Ringwood Avenue just before 4:30 a.m. Sunday.

At the scene, officers found Munoz Ruiz suffering from at least one gunshot wound. He was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead, San Jose police Sgt. Enrique Garcia said.

As of midday today, police investigators have not yet provided details on a possible motive for the shooting or the circumstances surrounding it. No suspects have been identified or arrested, Garcia said.
