Bartow County Sheriff's Office spokesperson Sgt. Jonathan Rogers said the cause and manner of death for Morgan are still pending. He notes when a "skeletonized" recovery of a body has been made, the GBI's lab sends those remains to an anthropologist for examination before final results are made. In other words, Rogers said it could be a while before any answers are unearthed.

BCSO joined the Emerson Police Department and GBI in its investigation into the case when it obtained new information about Morgan's last moments. Sgt. Jonathan Rogers with the sheriff's office said Morgan left his home on Taff Road near Taylorsville around 5:30 a.m. May 24 and clocked in to his job at ZEP products in Emerson around 6 a.m.

He was picked up by a vehicle belonging to a local taxi company around 12:51 p.m. on the same day and taken to the McDonald's at 1130 West Avenue. After leaving McDonalds, he took the same taxi to his cousin's home in Cartersville, which was the last known area where Morgan was seen, Sgt. Rogers said.

A press conference was held June 21 with BCSO officials and Morgan's parents to ask the public to come forward with any details that could lead to the Bartow County resident returning home. Residents can click here to leave condolences to Morgan's family.
