Thomas Scott was arrested and booked on suspicion of murder Thursday in the death of Luis Quintanar.

Quintanar was shot in the parking lot of Central Community Church in the 5600 block of Arlington Avenue about 1:15 a.m., on Aug. 28, 10 days after his 18th birthday, Riverside police said. He later died at a hospital.

The preliminary investigation found that Quintanar was walking in the area with friends when they were approached by the suspect. A fight broke out and the suspect pulled out a gun and shot the victim before running from the scene, police said.
