There’s A New Job Search Site You Need To Check Out

Following
This article is more than 3 years old.

The tech world has gained a very savvy job search website that is practically unheard of by most Baby boomers, Xers, and even Millennials. It was my twenty-something son who was looking for a sales job who showed me the Built In job search site. I took a stroll around the site, played with it quite a bit, and I was impressed. This site features high paying jobs. So, it is well worth taking a good look to see if any opportunity is a fit for you or if you want to use this continually as a part of your job hunting activities.

Of course, you’d expect to find highly technical jobs such as Dev, Engineers, Design + UX, Data, Analytics, Project Management, Content, and Product to be here. But have you considered that this site is a great way to find jobs in Sales, Marketing, HR, Finance, Legal, Operations, even Internships?

Where are the Jobs

The main Built in site advertises it has 11,735 open positions today. You can search from this main site or drill down and get more specific by job area or search by location. Eight different “sub” site locations are featured. Also, there are the REMOTE option that employers are currently hiring for too. The eight “sub”sites are in tech hub locations that included:

·        Built in Austin

·        Built in Boston

·        Built in Chicago

·        Built in Colorado

·        Built in Los Angeles

·        Built in New York City

·        Built in Seattle

·        Built in San Francisco

Search By Job Level and Industry

You can easily search for jobs at your level of experience. This is a beneficial function. The site allows you to search for:

 Entry Level jobs which had 1468;

 Mid-level jobs noting 3359 openings

Senior Level jobs that offered 7,190 positions

REMOTE only jobs with 1903 jobs

If you are a Senior Level Engineer, Architect, GM, Director, VP, Head of Global – there are employers actively recruiting and wanting to talk to you. If you are early in your career, you’ll see those jobs too. You can set up the search parameters to pick the city and the job level to show you what is available in your field, in your locale, or a place you’d be willing to move to. Of course, the remote work option let you work from anywhere.

Find the More Filters tab (middle of the page) under the locations and experience tabs, you can select the industry or industries you want to work in. You’ll find the high-tech ones like Cloud, AI, Digital Media, Fintech, eCommerce, IT, Hardware, and Software plus others. The surprise was you could select industries such as Beauty, Fashion, Food, Music, News, Entertainment, Sports, even Pets. There may be fewer positions in these types of fields, but they are listed here.

Who is Hiring?

While some companies overwhelm LinkedIn or Indeed, this website does not seem to be crowded with one or two leading employers. And the jobs I saw here don’t seem to show up on other job search engines.

Like startups? Each locale site has a startups tab, and you can find jobs in that city or area working for a new company.

Built in lists small and midsize companies you likely haven’t heard of before. Keep in mind; these may be the IPOs of 2021 or 2022. These are the very opportunities you crave that might have been difficult to find before.

Some magnet companies are on the site too. Openings from HBO, MLB – right that is Major League Baseball, Dell, Instacart, Doordash, Drift, Chewy, Blue Nile, Salesforce, of course, a few jobs from Amazon, Microsoft, Google, and Apple were listed on this site too.

If you don’t care to look through the pages of listings, you can use the search feature to select a company and see if they offer something you might want to go and apply to. In addition, the site is smart as it will pop up similar jobs at other companies also.

Turn This On

Many Websites offer a “Jobs Alert” feature, but they often miss all the opportunities out there. On Built in, you can pick a company, and the job area such as UX or Project Management or Finance and the site will alert you when that company puts up a new opening in that job area. For example, if like uipath search for that company using the search tab, once you find the company, turn on the “job alerts” tab for an HR job, or anything you qualify for.

This site seems to be rather new and growing. Since smaller organizations are harder to find open job opportunities, this is a unique site to consult if you are seeking a job in the tech world.
