Singapore's Chinese learning school chain forms advisory committee for teaching improvement

SINGAPORE, Feb. 21 (Xinhua) -- Han Culture and Education Group, a subsidiary of Singapore Press Holdings (SPH) and one of Singapore's largest chain of private Chinese learning schools, has established an advisory committee to strengthen its courses and teaching standards, the Straits Times reported on Wednesday.

The group's CEO Ooi Ching Ya was quoted as saying that with the support of this advisory committee, Han Culture and Education Group will be able to better integrate its strengths and expertise to offer more high-quality programs to learners.

Members of the committee include experts and professionals from fields such as technology, education and entrepreneurship.

Han Culture and Education Group also plans to launch a Chinese Business and Cultural Course, to help working professionals understand the business culture, politics and economy of modern China.

According to the media, the group was established after the successful acquisition of Han Language Centre by SPH last November, and currently operates 16 Han Language Centers islandwide, providing courses for primary school students, secondary school students and adults. Its adult courses include Chinese language for beginners and intermediate Chinese language.
