Woman Killed In Essex Crash, Passenger Critical: Police

Police said a Baltimore County woman died and her passenger was injured in a recent crash off Route 702.

ESSEX, MD — Police said one person died in a crash in Essex on Saturday night. Officials released information about the crash Tuesday morning.

Shannon Michele Kraft, 30, of the 3700 block of White Pine Road, did not negotiate a right curve in the road while driving her Hyundai Tucson, police said.

The crash happened while Kraft was driving west on Route 702 near the exit for Interstate 695, according to the Baltimore County Police Department. Her car crossed a grass median and Route 702 east before going down an embankment and crashing into a tree before 9 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 3, police reported.

Kraft was taken to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, where authorities said she later died.

A man who had been a passenger in the car was taken to an area hospital, where police said Tuesday he was listed in critical but stable condition.
