Alabama OL Hunter Brannon was in the headlines for the wrong reason this weekend.

News broke Sunday morning that the redshirt freshman had been arrested earlier in Tuscaloosa, Ala. on suspicion of DUI.

Crimson Tide coach Nick Saban has now commented on the matter:

“We are very disappointed any time a player makes a choice that leads to this kind of behavior. We are still in the process of gathering all of the details on the situation and we will evaluate what we need to do in terms of appropriate discipline as we move forward.”

While football takes a backseat to the matter of allegedly endangering people in Tuscaloosa by driving drunk and breaking the law, any punishment to Brannon would not appear to be a significant loss to UA on the field. A former 3-star recruit in the class of 2017, Brannon has yet to participate in a game this season after redshirting last year.
