Best Super Bowl 2019 Samsung TV Deals: Giant TV Bargains For The Big Game

Following
This article is more than 5 years old.

This post was created by the Contributor in partnership with BestBlackFriday.com, which specializes in holiday season sales. The deals highlighted within this post were independently selected and do not contain affiliate links.

The biggest single event in the annual US sporting calendar is upon us once more. And even though it feels like only yesterday that we were talking about Black Friday’s TV deals, stores and TV brands are hitting the discount trail again - hard - in a bid to cash in on Super Bowl fever.

Samsung’s QLED and LCD TVs tend to be particularly popular in the build up to the big game - not least because they tend to offer colossal (and usually good quality) screens at  aggressive prices. Samsung knows this only too well, of course, and so this year it’s made a point of announcing particularly hefty price cuts on particularly massive TVs.

So while it’s a damn shame that yet again this year nobody is broadcasting the Super Bowl in 4K (come on America, you can do better than this!), if you missed out on a Black Friday or January Sales TV bargain, the battle between the Los Angeles Rams and the New England Patriots is the perfect excuse to put that right. And to put it right with a bigger screen than you might have been considering before.

Here I've collated all of Samsung’s most stand-out Super Bowl TV price deals, divided into QLED and non-QLED sets.

QLED models, if you’re not sure of the difference, use unique metal-clad Quantum Dots to make their colors rather than the usual LED filters, resulting in more brightness and color range. For the full background on this, check out this separate article: What Is QLED, And Why Does It Matter?

Note that in the list below, I’ve highlighted what I consider to be the stand out performers with some further background information on why they’ll serve you so well.

SAMSUNG QLED TV DEALS

82-inch QLED TVs

1. Samsung QN82Q6FNAFXZA Smart 4K UHD TV (2018) for $2,999.99 (save $1,500) - Product Link

2. Samsung QN82Q8FNBFXZA Smart 4K UHD TV (2018) for $4,299.99 (save $1,200) - Product Link

This set stands out in Samsung’s current TV range for two main reasons. First, it uses direct backlighting (where the LEDs sit right behind the screen rather than around its edges). Second, it supports local dimming (where different zones of LEDs can output different amounts of light at any moment to suit the image content). Put these two things together, and you’ve got a picture capable of producing much more contrast, brightness and color range than most big-screen TVs.

75-inch QLED TVs

1. Samsung QN75Q7FNAFXZA Smart 4K UHD TV (2018) for $2,799.99 (save $1,200) - Product Link

This set uses edge LED lighting, which means it can’t deliver the same levels of contrast and dynamism that you get with Samsung’s direct-lit big-screen TVs. However, it’s still punchier and more richly colored than any other edge-lit screen of such a size, as well as delivering exceptional 4K sharpness.

2. Samsung QN75Q8FNBFXZA Smart 4K UHD TV (2018) for $3,299.99 (save $1,500) - Product Link

This is the 75-inch version of the 82Q9FN I highlighted earlier. You can find a review of the 65-inch version of this TV here.

3. Samsung QN75Q9FNAFXZA Smart 4K UHD TV (2018) for $4,499.99 (save $1,500) - Product Link

The Q9FN series is Samsung’s current flagship 4K range. And it earns this flagship status in spectacular style, delivering arguably the most all-round spectacular pictures in the 4K TV world.

For starters, its pictures are stunningly bright, unlocking the full impact of today’s new, ultra life-like high dynamic range picture technology. It also combines direct LED lighting with local dimming across more than 400 separate zones. This means that its huge brightness can co-exist with some of the deepest, most convincing black colors in the LCD TV world.

The 75Q9FN's color range is huge too, helping it handle the expanded palette associated with most HDR content. Overall, its combination of high brightness, great color and extreme sharpness make it a sports fan’s dream.

You can find my in-depth review of the 65-inch version of this TV here.

4. Samsung QN75Q6FNAFXZA Smart 4K UHD TV (2018) for $2,299.99 (save $1,200) - Product Link

65-inch QLED TV

1. Samsung QN65Q9FNAFXZA Smart 4K UHD TV (2018) for $2,799.99 (save $1,000) - Product link

This is the 65-inch version of the QN75Q9FN highlighted previously. And since it uses the same number of local dimming zones as the QN75Q9FN but within a smaller screen, for me it delivers the all-round most immersive picture in Samsung’s entire 4K range.

You can find my review of this TV here.

55-inch QLED TVs

1. Samsung QN55Q7CNAFXZA Curved Smart 4K UHD TV (2018) for $1,499.99 (save $500) - Product link

While this is worth looking at if you really like the design appeal of a curved TV, the curve doesn’t really enhance the viewing experience at the 55-inch screen size. In fact, the curve could create a few issues if you’re planning on having a big Super Bowl viewing party, distorting the image for anyone who has to watch from down the TV's sides.

2. Samsung QN55Q7FNAFXZA Smart 4K UHD TV (2018) for $1,499.99 (save $400) - Product link

This is the 55-inch version of the 75Q7FN highlighted earlier.

3. Samsung QN55Q6FNAFXZA Smart 4K UHD TV (2018) for $999.99 (save $500) - Product link

SAMSUNG NON-QLED LCD TV DEALS

82-inch LCD TV

1. Samsung UN82NU8000FXZA Smart 4K UHD TV for $2,599.99 (save $1,400) - Product link

While they aren’t as rich in contrast, color and brightness as Samsung’s QLED TVs, the NU8000s still deliver a crisp, bold and detailed picture despite a) how much screen you’re getting for under $2,600 and b) the fact that the screens are only edge lit (direct lit approaches generally work best at this sort of image size).

75-inch LCD TV

1. Samsung UN75NU8000FXZA Smart 4K UHD TV for $1,899.99 (save $1,100) - Product link

This is the 75-inch version of the 82NU8000 highlighted above. Since it uses edge lighting, you will get a slightly more ‘even’ backlight performance from this slightly smaller screen.

65-inch LCD TVs

1. Samsung UN65NU8500FXZA Curved Smart 4K UHD TV for $1,199.99 (save $600) - Product link

This curved version of the TV below doesn’t really justify its extra $100 asking price - unless your aesthetic tastes mean you absolutely have to have a curved TV screen.

2. Samsung UN65NU8000FXZA Smart 4K UHD TV for $1,099.99 (save $600) - Product Link

This is the 65-inch version of the NU8000s I’ve highlighted before. It’s arguably the performance ‘sweet spot’ in the range thanks to the way its edge lighting harmonizes with its screen size.

55-inch LCD TVs

1. Samsung UN55NU8500FXZA Curved Smart 4K UHD TV for $899.99 (save $400) - Product link

As with the 65NU8500, I don’t see how this 55-inch TV justifies costing $899.99 more than the flat version next on the list, unless you’re a particular lover of curved screens.

2. Samsung UN55NU8000FXZA Smart 4K UHD TV for $799.99 (save $400) - Product link

49-inch LCD TV

1. Samsung UN49NU8000FXZA Smart 4K UHD TV for $699.99 (save $300) - Product link

This might be the cheapest of Samsung’s significant Super Bowl deals, but surely a die-hard sports fan like you really wants something bigger? I'm confident the extra cash needed to step up to the UN55NU8000 will feel like the best hundred bucks you’ve spent. Especially as the 55-inch NU8000 benefits from a more highly specified screen than this 49-inch set.

One last thing to add before you head off to browse Samsung's big screen bargains is that if you'd like to browse these Samsung side by side with finance options shown, this link to Samsung's site gives you that option.
