Troopers say two men arrested after 50 pounds of marijuana found during traffic stop

West Virginia State Police said two men are facing charges after over 50 pounds of marijuana was found during a traffic stop in Wayne County.

Gerardo Delgadillo, Jr., 21, of Goodyear, AZ and Adrian Gutierrez, 19, of South Gate, CA were charged with possession with the intent to deliver and transport a controlled substance into the state, according to criminal complaints filed in Wayne County Magistrate Court.

Troopers said they pulled over a vehicle on U.S. 52 in Wayne county for an unsecured license plate on Wednesday. Troopers said the driver said he was a Lyft driver and just picked up the passengers from the airport. Troopers said he observed indicators of drug trafficking and located a suitcase with 50 bags of suspected marijuana weighing about 56 pounds. Troopers said the suspects few into the Tri-State Airport from Los Angeles.

Both were taken to the Western Regional Jail and bond was set at $200,000 each.
