Ag Department honors Loughman Oaks Elementary with Golden Shovel Award for school garden

DAVENPORT — The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services announced Loughman Oaks Elementary a winner of a Golden Shovel Award.

The third annual Florida Farm to School Golden Shovel Awards recognized students, educators and community members for their school garden efforts in five categories.

Louhgman Oaks won in the primary division for Best New Garden.

The program received applications from 20 counties and named 10 winners from nine counties.
