Alva’s Education Foundation offers free education to Nagaland students

Kohima, June 27 (MExN): At the initiative of the Governor of Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh, PB Acharya, Alva’s Education Foundation, Moodbidri, a few kilometres away from Mangalore, Karnataka has announced free education to 50 students from Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh for the academic session 2017-18.  

The Foundation will provide the accommodation and education fees for the selected students worth around Rs. 50,000/- per person. The students will have to bear the charges for food, books, uniform, and university fees, informed a press release from PRO to the Governor.   Following Degree courses are being offered by the Foundation for students who have passed their 12th standard with 40% marks or more: GNM (General Nursing), BSW (Bachelor in Social Works), BHRD (Bachelor in Human Resource Development), BBA, BA (HPS), BA (HEP), B.Sc Microbiology, B.Sc Biotechnology, BPED, B.Sc. Botany, Zoology, Chemistry, B.Sc. Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, BA- Human Resource Development, BA- English (Opt.) Psychology, Journalism, BA- Physical Education, Political Science, Sociology, B.Sc. Physics, Mathematics, Statistics, B.Sc. Microbiology, Bio-Chemistry, Botany, B.Sc. Biotechnology, Zoology, Chemistry, B.Sc. Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, BCA Bachelor of Computer Application, B.Com (General)/CPT/IPCC, BA History, Political Science, Sociology, BA English (Opt) History, Journalism, BA History, Economics, Political Science, BA Physical Education, Political Science, History and B.V.A. Bachelor of Visual Arts. Students with 50% marks in their 12th standard exam can apply for the following degree programmes: Bachelor in Hospital Administration and B.Com with Computer Application (Commerce).  

The institute is also offering the following PG courses for students with 55% in their graduate examination: M.Sc. Biotechnology (Science), M.Sc. Statistics (Science), M.Sc. Psychology, Masters in Human Resource Development, Masters in Social Works.  

Interested students may submit an application stating the course he/she wants to apply for along with a copy of their mark sheets and Indigenous Inhabitant of Nagaland Certificate to Raj Bhavan, Kohima. For Degree courses, students must submit their application on or before July 10, 2017, the release stated.
