It's taken a long time, but Martin Scorsese's passion project Silence has finally made it to cinemas.
Of course, all eyes are on what the legendary director has in mind for his next work, which is another long-gestating film called The Irishman.
The film is set to reunite Scorsese with Robert De Niro and Al Pacino and will tell the story of union-official-turned-mob-hitman Frank 'The Irishman' Sheeran, which was famously chronicled in the Charles Brandt novel I Heard You Paint Houses.
Reports have been swirling around (via IndieWire) that things hit a snag when Paramount pulled out of distributing the film, but streaming giant Netflix is said to have swooped in to save the day and is close to claiming worldwide release rights.
The publication also states that the film is on track for a 2019 release date on the streaming service and could have a limited cinema release for the Oscars.
Digital Spy has reached out to Netflix for comment and will update as soon as we know more.
One project that we know definitely isn't happening is the Frank Sinatra biopic, as the family haven't given Scorsese the approval he desires.
Scorsese himself said: "Certain things are very difficult for a family, and I totally understand.
"But, if they expect me to be doing it, they can't hold back certain things. The problem is that the man was so complex. Everybody is so complex - but Sinatra in particular."
