Assumption College, Worcester MA

  • Assumption College has announced that Jenna Snyder, of Granby, is one of 590 students named to the College's prestigious undergraduate Dean's List for the spring 2018 semester. Snyder is a member of the Class of 2018. To earn a spot on the Dean's List, Assumption students must achieve a grade point average of 3.5 for a five-class, 15-credit semester. The Dean's List is announced twice per academic year, once at the completion of the fall semester, and again at the completion of the spring semester.

Champlain College, Burlington VT

  • Daniel Sonka of East Granby was named to the Champlain College President's List for the spring 2018 semester. Students who are named to the President's List have achieved a semester grade point average of 4.0 or higher.

Elmira College, Elmira NY

  • Samantha Berger of East Granby was recently recognized at the opening reception for the Senior Art Majors Show on Thursday, May 17. She was awarded second prize for her multi-media installation that combined her skills in ceramics, sculpture and drawing with her love of archery.

University of Scranton, Scranton PA

  • Two Granby residents were among more than 890 bachelor's and associate's degrees at its undergraduate commencement on May 27 at the Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza in Wilkes-Barre. Amanda R. Jacobs earned a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry, and Emma M. Percival earned a Bachelor of Science degree in early and primary teacher education.

University of Vermont, Burlington VT

  • Some 3,055 students were awarded degrees during the University of Vermont's 217th commencement ceremonies. Alexander Nemerov, alumnus and one of the nations' leading art historians and scholar of cultural history, delivered the address. Local graduates were Molly Freedman of Granby, Bachelor of Arts, Environmental Studies; and Henry Tobin of East Granby, Bachelor of Arts, Economics.
  • Henry Tobin, Class of 2018, has been named to the dean's list for the spring 2018 semester at the University of Vermont. Tobin, from East Granby, is majoring in Economics in the College of Arts and Sciences. To be named to the dean's list, students must have a grade-point average of 3.0 or better and rank in the top 20 percent of their class in their respective college or school.
