Two men hospitalized after shooting at party in Grand Rapids

GRAND RAPIDS, MI - Two men have been hospitalized after a shooting Sunday morning on the 700 block of Coate Court SW near Grandville Avenue SW in Grand Rapids, police said.

Police said they believe the shooting resulted from a nearby party that got out of control. Both men sustained gunshot wounds that were not considered to be life-threatening.

No suspect information is available at this time, police added, and the incident remains under investigation.

Officers responded at around 4 a.m. Sunday to the 700 block of Coate Court SW on a report of shots fired, police said. Officers upon arrival found evidence of a shooting throughout the yard but found no suspects or victims on scene.

At around 4:20 a.m., police said two men in their 20s were arrived at Spectrum Butterworth Hospital with gunshot wounds. Officers determined that both men were victims of the Coate Court shooting that had occurred less than 30 minutes earlier.
