Alan Tam celebrates 40th year in music

2 Jan – Hong Kong singer Alan Tam recently celebrated his 40th year in showbiz, and received an honour from Universal Music for having the longest recording career with the label.

According to Oriental Daily News, the 64-year-old singer celebrated his anniversary on 1 January alongside many of his performing buddies, including Hacken Lee, Eric Tsang, Cally Kwong, Jackie Chan, Shirley Kwan, Kelvin Kwan, and Linda Wong.

The singer, who was truly delighted with the presence of the stars, stated, "I am very happy to be able to see all my good friends here. Everyone here has been with me for 40 years, and that is not easy."

"How many decades there are in a lifetime? This group of people are my good brothers for 40 years, and they have sacrificed a lot for my success," he enthused.

The company also presented him a 40th Anniversary Yearbook album, which contains a collection of photo of stars who have worked with him throughout the years. Alan stated that he will cherish the gift very well.

When asked if he would continue to work for another 40 years or finally retire, Alan only replied, "I have plans."
