Jonny Lee Miller has signed with UTA for representation in all areas, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
Miller currently stars as Sherlock Holmes in Elementary, CBS’ modern-day, New York-set adaptation of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s stories. The sophomore drama recently netted a landmark three-million-per-episode off-network deal with WGN America and Hulu Plus.

Before landing the role of one of literature’s most famous detectives, Miller played on the other side of the law as the big bad in season five of Showtime’s Dexter, sharing a SAG nomination with the rest of the show’s cast that year. He also toplined the whimsical ABC dramedy Eli Stone and starred in BBC productions of Emma, Canterbury Tales and Byron.
Miller made his big-screen debut as the lead in the 1995 cult film Hackers and further broke through a year later with Danny Boyle’s Trainspotting, playing Sick Boy opposite Ewan McGregor. In 2006 he received BAFTA Scotland and London Critics Circle Film Award nominations for his portrayal of real-life bipolar cycling champion Graeme Obree in The Flying Scotsman, and in 2009 he starred opposite William Hurt and Chiwetel Ejiofor in the Emmy-nominated anti-apartheid telepic Endgame. Miller’s other notable feature credits include Afterglow, Mansfield Park, Melinda and Melinda and Dark Shadows.

The English actor reunited with Boyle in 2011 for London’s National Theatre production of Frankenstein. Miller alternated the lead roles of Victor Frankenstein and the Creature with Benedict Cumberbatch, leading to shared Olivier and Evening Standard Awards wins for both men. Miller also starred in Someone Who’ll Watch Over Me, Feston and The Play What I Wrote on the West End, as well as on Broadway in 2009’s After Miss Julie, opposite Sienna Miller.
Miller continues to be repped by Kate Buckley at the U.K.-based management firm 42.
