Intoxicated woman parks her car on sidewalk across the street: Chagrin Falls Police Blotter

CHAGRIN FALLS, Ohio - Drunken Driving, Olive Street: A woman, 44, was transported to the Solon jail for testing after a neighbor called 911 to report a red Jeep parked on the sidewalk 12:43 a.m. Feb. 21.

Police traced the vehicle to the owner and found her slumped on her couch.

She admitted to drinking five glasses of wine and driving, but insisted she parked in her driveway. Her blood alcohol level was three times over the legal limit. She was charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated.

Breaking and Entering, Main Street: Someone forced an entry into the Chagrin River Outfitters store between 6:30 p.m. Feb. 18 and 10 a.m. Feb. 19 and stole cash and the store's laptop computer. Credit cards and fingertips were left along with a beer bottle cap.

Someone also attempted but failed to enter third floor offices in the same building.

Identity Theft, East Washington Street: A woman attempted to file her tax return online Feb. 20, but it was rejected because someone else filed using her social security number in a different name.

She was advised to check her credit reports.

Traffic Stop, South Main Street: After being stopped for driving without headlights 11:30 p.m. Feb. 20, a Newbury woman, 64 failed field sobriety tests. She said she borrowed her friend's car to retrieve something she left at a restaurant earlier.

At first the Newbury woman denied drinking alcohol before admitting to having two glasses of wine. She tested with a blood alcohol content of .083 percent. She was charged with the traffic violation and driving while intoxicated. The vehicle was parked and the owner retrieved it the following day.

Found Property, Pleasant Drive: A cell phone was found and turned over to police Feb. 19. The phone's battery is dead, and the owner has not been located.

General Complaints, various streets: Two residents complained that they had no water with no apparent frozen pipes in their homes. A Main Street woman called 10:15 p.m. Feb. 22 and a Coy Lane man reported his problem Feb. 16. The service department was notified.
