A man in a Harlem subway tunnel was hit and killed by a train Saturday, stranding 1,500 straphangers, authorities said.

An Inwood-bound A train had just left the 145th St./St. Nicholas Ave. station at 6:45 p.m. when it struck the unidentified man, who died at the scene.

Metropolitan Transportation Authority workers called in a rescue train to pick up the 1,500 passengers and return them to the 145th St. station, an agency spokesman said.

No injuries were reported, according to officials.
