Two Camden Central High School students were killed Wednesday afternoon after being involved in a head on collision on U.S. Highway 641 near Holladay. The wreck happened around 5 p.m.

James Hipple, 17 from Big Sandy and Jennifer Morgan, 16 from Holladay, both attended Camden Central High School.

According to a report from the Tennessee Highway Patrol, Hipple was driving southbound on U.S. Highway 641 in Holladay when he crossed over the middle lane and struck Curtis Lumley, from Hollow Rock. Lumley was transported to Jackson-Madison County General Hospital and his condition is not known at this time.

"While I can't tell you anything about our students, we did lose two fine students who were seniors in our school yesterday," Shawn McDowell, assistant principal of Camden Central, said.

"First thing, we ask that the focus of the community is to keep the thoughts and prayers with the students and familes."
