The out anchor gave it his best, but he couldn't quite match the moves of the robot, which may be on its way to becoming a common household item.

If the thought ever occurred to you while watching anchorman Don Lemon reading the news while sitting behind his desk, Can that dude dance? well, CNN has provided the answer.

And it's not pretty.

The gay CNN star tried valiantly to match moves with another man and a robot named Meccanoid live on CNN this week. And before you can say "domo arigato," the robot won.

Danger, CNN viewers! Danger!

Lemon was joined on the air by CNN colleague Morgan Spurlock for a segment to promote this week's season premiere of Inside Man.

Meccanoid is a consumer product introduced at the International Consumer Electronic Show in Las Vegas this month, Spurlock reported. Robots are becoming a household reality, and not just to vacuum our homes, he said.

He demonstrated the child-size mechanical man giving Lemon a high-five, cracking a joke, walking hand in hand, and, as mentioned, dancing.

"I enjoy hip-hop!" said Meccanoid, to his own soundtrack.

Watch Lemon, Spurlock, and Meccanoid get down and do the robot, sort of, below.
