It's a visit most children dread - a trip to the dentist.
But bubbly Kelly Ripa and her 11-year-old son Joaquin are clearly not in that category as they were spotted in a jolly mood following a visit an orthodontist in New York.
On Thursday, the 44-year-old daytime chat show host and the young boy were seen enjoying a hearty laugh together as the doting mother placed an arm around the child's shoulder.

Both Kelly and Joaquin looked bundled up in layers as the pair walked arm-in-arm keeping each other warm.
The former soap opera star dressed casually in a leather jacket, printed sweater and a pair of distressed denim jeans.
The barefaced actress styled her outfit with nude coloured ankle booties and carried a faux leather backpack over her shoulder.
While, her youngest sported a pair of Adidas sweat pants and sneakers with a grey hoodie jacket.

That same day, the doting mother-of-three shared a snap of her son while at the dentist on her Instagram account.
In the photo, Joaquin sits in the reclining chair wearing red protective eyewear and blue mouth opener as he got his teeth checked.
Kelly captioned the photo: 'It's the mysterious Dr. Sherman and equally intriguing Joaquin attempting to have a conversation about braces.'

The Live! host recently celebrated her birthday earlier in the month and was showered with love from her children.
Joaquin and his two siblings, Lola, aged 13, and Michael aged, 17, surprised their mom with a celebratory dinner.
She posted a picture of her three kids along with the message, 'these three beauties know how to make a mom feel special!'
