After a one-day hiatus, the criminal trial of three former executives of now-defunct Dewey & LeBoeuf resumed at a faster pace Thursday, as three witnesses took the stand before an afternoon lunch break.
First to testify was an assistant to former Dewey & LeBoeuf corporate partner John Altorelli, an outspoken rainmaker at the firm who has been portrayed as sharp-tongued by some previous witnesses. Altorelli, a flashy figure who filed for personal bankruptcy protection last year, now serves as co-chair of DLA Piper’s U.S. finance practice in New York.
