Where Farm Meets Fork

Rural Indiana doesn’t exactly conjure images of fine dining, but there’s a foodie’s paradise nestled in the tiny town of Roanoke: The Joseph Decuis restaurant, which gets its food from its own farm six miles away. The farm provides the restaurant with free-range chickens, Wagyu beef, and organically raised herbs and vegetables. Recently named one of the top 50 restaurants in the country by Open Table users, Joseph Decuis will host two events on Saturday, October 20: A multi-course luncheon from noon until 2 p.m. ($45 with wine pairings, $30 without) and an hour-long tour of the farm from 5 to 6 p.m., including a talk on raising Wagyu cattle by owners Pete and Alice Eshelman.
